Where have our kits been used?
Since most race car trailers have the landing gear almost all the way out to the edge of the trailer, the best place for our kit is for inside mount orientation.
Using our sidemount kit (EZ-WINDER-S) plus our wired remote control kit (EZ-WINDER-1R), we can utilize the Holland’s Universal thru input shaft that not only allows cranking from the outside but also from the inside. Take a look at an example installation.
Landing gear is not just for the nose!! We have customers mount single or dual landing gear near the rear end of their trailers or box trucks for a variety of reasons.
On a dry van or flatbed trailer, a customer kept having their rear air suspension blow out and another with frame rails crack due to heavy loads such as large paper rolls or heavy steel pallets been driven in at lightning speeds by zealous fork lift drivers. This suspension or frame cracking is extremely expensive to fix.
For less than the cost of repairing this damage, you can add landing gear and our I-Beam EZWinder on the rear end which will help hold the trailer at a constant height during loading and unloading.
Our EZ-Winder I-BEAM Kit along with our optional wired remote that can extend up to 19ft of reach attached to one or two coupled jost landing gear units, allows the driver or dock operator to drop or raise the rear support legs without all that cranking. This is especially helpful when making 8-10 drops a day.
Box Trucks have become very popular as hot shots are more flexible in schedules for last mile deliveries to jobsites or moving product a few towns over. With loads becoming significantly heavier, the rear suspension can drop a number of inches when the truck is being loaded with fork lift inside.
A few customers have combated this issue by adding rear landing gear with our EZ-WINDER system on the rear section of the box truck frame along with our wired remote. This combination works extremely well at keeping the box trailer at a constant height to the dock, regardless of load and keeping you from an embarrassing situation where the forklift cannot back out of the truck.
Our system should be standard on a box truck being used to load heavy product. Make it standard on yours.
Most portable yard ramps utilize bolt-on Jost landing gear with wheels for easy maneuverability or foot plate for stationary use. Either way, this ramp must be easily adjusted to load and off-load trailers or trucks of varying heights. That is why you need our EZjr-PYR (Portable Yard Ramp) kit so your workers can focus more on moving product.
